The Pixel is Adonit’s latest trick: A Bluetooth powered smart stylus with a 1,9mm pixel point technology tip, which works on almost every iOS device. You can write and draw naturally and if you don’t want to get yourself an Apple Pencil, the Adonit Pixel should definitely be one of your top considerations. Having trouble with your own handwriting? Try activating “Line Smoothing” in the options to improve the typeface. The Adonit Pixel feels pleasant between your fingertips and has two built-in shortcut buttons for undoing or redoing the last stroke you made. It can easily be charged by using the magnetic USB dock that you can just plug into your computer.

The only stylus on our list that does not use Bluetooth, but still is a precision miracle. After quickly getting used to the transparent plastic disc at the tip of the Jot Pro, you will ask yourself how you could ever write on your tablet without it. The disk allows your screen to recognize the touch input even without a Bluetooth connection, but you will still be able to follow your own handwriting easily. The application of a ball-and-socket-joint enables high degrees of freedom for writing and drawing angles. Using the Zoom Window in GoodNotes you can also take beautiful and neat handwritten notes with this rather low-cost stylus. The latest version of the Jot Pro uses a cushion tip to dampen the screen contact for a more convenient and silent writing experiences. The disks can be exchanged, which makes this an ever reliable stylus for occasional or frequent note takers, that don’t want to spend too much money and don’t care for Bluetooth shortcuts.

The Pencil by 53 comes in three beautiful designs. It has a soft skewed tip which allows you to write and draw in multiple angles. The manufacturers use high-quality materials to build this stylus and it has a pleasant haptic when you hold it in your hands. Using the skewed side of the Pencil by 53 you can draw thicker lines. A great add-on for seamless note-taking is the eraser tip on the other end of the stylus. Just flipping the Pencil by 53 around, will activate the eraser, without having to select it in the toolbar. One great advantage of the soft tip: It can also be used when the Pencil is not charged because it still imitates your finger input. Charge the Pencil by 53 by pulling the tip gently out of the body and plug it into any USB port. This stylus comes in handy for creatives and those who like to design and draw.

The Pogo Connect is a Bluetooth powered smart stylus with a soft round rubber tip. Paired with GoodNotes, the stylus tip is surprisingly precise and the ink flows smoothly onto the display. It comes with a customizable shortcut button on the side, which can be configured in the smart stylus settings. Naturally, the stylus works well with palm rejection, so that you don’t have to worry about resting your hand on the display while you write. It is pressure sensitive and is able to recognize hundreds of degrees of pressure. The Pogo Connect 2 stands out from other styluses in terms of charging: It is powered by a single AAA battery, which makes it more independent. This pen is for people who take lots of notes and don’t like to carry around yet another charging cable. Even if running out of battery, the Pogo Connect 2 can still be used, due to its soft rubber tip.

6. Bamboo Fineline
The Bamboo Fineline 2 is a highly precise Bluetooth smart stylus with a 1,9mm tip. Another good pick for people that look for an ever-reliable stylus for note taking and drawing in all sorts of surroundings. The precise tip is sensitive and able to detect many levels of applied pressure. On the side of the Fineline 2 is a shortcut button, which can be configured in the smart stylus settings of GoodNotes. If you don’t like pressure sensitivity too much, you can disable it in the settings as well. To keep the tip clean in order to protect your screen from scratches, the Fineline 2 comes with a cap that also has a clip on it, so that you can keep your stylus in your pocket readily available, without being afraid to lose it. To charge it quickly, you can use the micro USB cable and plug it in after revealing the dock on the upper end of the stylus.

In general, they are three different tip styles: The soft rubber tip, the disk tip, or the hard 1,9mm tip. Every tip has its advantages and disadvantages.
