Sure, Logic Express 9 is missing a lot of features included with Logic Studio—support for Digidesign’s Pro Tools TDM hardware, surround sound production, and distributed audio processing (the. Logic Express 6 is priced at $299, and is based on the same technology that powers Logic Pro 6. It's designed specifically at educators and students, and includes a basic set of six different pro. If bought independently, Logic Pro costs £699 and Logic Express £199. Existing users of Logic Gold or Platinum versions 5 or 6 can upgrade to Logic Pro for £149, while for those with version 4 or earlier, the upgrade will cost £499. Logic Express and Logic Audio Big Box users can move up to Pro for the same price. I had Logic Express 8, so not only would this be an upgrade, but an update as well. According to the website, this upgrade package would even work from older versions of Logic Express. Given that buying an older version of Express and upgrading can be cheaper than buying Logic Studio directly, I thought this must be too good to be true. All I had was the upgrade disc which needed Logic Pro 6 which i dont have. I installed it all the way until it prompted for my USB device and then quit out Basically it had installed Logic Express 7 but not activated it. I just dragged the Logic express app to the trash, but it must have installed other files too.
