Why duplicate a track anyway?
Good question. Why not just use the existing track right!?
Well, to a degree you are right yes. But for me it is often a case of duplicating a track so that I can then go on to manipulate the duplicate in a slightly different way.

Another good use is for guitar parts, duplicate the track and hard pan each track so you get that wonderful open and wide distorted guitar we have grown to know and love.
So in short, I use this technique for doubling (or more) parts. You can have quite a lot of fun by duplicating the same track many times over and then making slight changes to either the parts of FX and it creates a wonderful bed/wall of noise. Depending on the result you are looking for of course.
What next?
