Starcraft 2 Campaign Last Mission

  1. I had 2 crews of vikings, one for the top choke and the plateau, and one for the left and command center. When the leviathan showed up i swarmed it with vikings, and it went down pretty fast. On my winning mission i lucked out and it floated right by my turrets, which helped take out the flyers it spawns, and tore it apart fast.

Last Stand is a mission in the Legacy of the Void Campaign.

  • 1Primary Objectives

Primary Objectives[edit]

  • Destroy 3 Zenith Stones.
  • Hold out for 1 billion Zerg.
  • The Xel'Naga Temple must survive.

Guide[edit]

Priorities:

This mission gives you multiple conflicting priorities to manage simultaneously. Exactly how you do this depends on your level of development as a player, so this guide can only outline the methods.

Resources:

You will start on a plateau with two resource clusters, a Nexus, some Probes, a few ground units and a Gateway. It's good to have Chrono Surge, Orbital Strike, Nexus Overcharge, and Decreased Construction Time enabled in your Solar Core.

Early Game:

Max out your resource development as fast as possible. This includes building a second Nexus, Assimilators, and Pylons. Your ground units can be moved to the various ramps to defeat incoming raiders. The order of their attack is SW, NW, SE, NE.

Middle Game:

Start building Dark Templars and Stalkers as resources allow, using Chrono Surge when available. Station the Stalkers to defend the ramps and send a smallish strike force of Dark Templars to the three Zenith Stones marked on your map. You can assist them with some Orbital Strikes. The Dark Templars will bypass most enemies and target the stones if you RIGHT DOUBLE-CLICK to direct them to the stones.

You will need massive defenses around your perimeter, eventually occupying every inch of the plateau. There are a number of videos on YouTube that show how to deploy these elements. Shift-build to quickly lay down lines of Pylons surrounding Kill Zones at the four entrances; then fill the front ranks with Photon Cannons backed up by Shield Batteries backed up by Khaydarin Monoliths. The end result looks ridiculous but your objective is to buy time.

As your plateau fills up with static emplacements, you can forget about building mobile units. They won't survive and won't be able to move around the area. Don't worry if some Probes get trapped. They're easy to replace and can be useful for rebuilding defenses when you have the chance.

End Game:

There will be billions of Zerg on the planet, all inbound to your camp. You just want to delay them until you reach the target number in the upper left corner of your screen. You get bonus points for holding out beyond the minimum, and for getting the Zenith Stones down quickly. When the Zerg start attacking the Xel'Naga Temple, you do not need to manually overload it. The temple will overload and the mission will end when the health of the temple reaches 0. You may be able to buy some time with Orbital Strikes.

Bonus Objectives[edit]

  • Hold out for 1.5 billion Zerg. (+10 Solarite)
